The Constant Voltage Transformer (CVT) is a ferro-resonant transformer that provides near-instant voltage regulation — response time of just 30 milliseconds — with no moving parts, no electronics, and no maintenance. It works on the principle of magnetic saturation in the secondary core to hold output at 230V ±1% regardless of input fluctuations. Ideal for computers, electronic test equipment, communication systems, and medical instruments where even a momentary dip is unacceptable. Also provides excellent noise rejection (inherently filters voltage spikes from the supply).
